MCS
(Micro Generation Certification Scheme)

With renewable energy and climate change a high profile subject at the moment there is increasing demand for Renewable Installers. So just what should you be looking for?

The government have arranged to pay a special tariff to those households who produce renewable energy. This means that renewable installations are becoming more attractive to private homeowners and businesses alike.

In order to get access to these benefits homeowners must have had the installation carried out by an installer who is a member of the government's MCS (microgeneration) Scheme.

MCS (Micro Generation Certification Scheme) was established as a way of demonstrating to customers that low and zero carbon technologies and installers are reliable and competent in a rapidly expanding market.

The MCS is an internationally recognised quality assurance scheme and mark for installers and products. It gives you a mark of competency and demonstrates to your customers that you can install to the highest quality every time.

The MCS mark is likely to be seen as the preferred option in the marketplace. This is because MCS is linked to many of the key factors driving demand such as

  • Feed-in-Tariffs, which provide guaranteed payments to individuals, businesses & communities.
  • The low carbon buildings program
  • The code for sustainable homes which is a mandatory requirement for all newly built homes.
  • Making planning for consumers a lot simpler thanks to permitted development rights.
  • SAP – recognises MCS certified products when determining whether products are eligible for inclusion in SAP assessments
