What savings can I expect?

The Energy Saving Trust estimates that the average family could realistically look to achieve a 40% saving on their electricity bill by fitting solar panels. How much you save does of course depend on your usage pattern and the efficiency of the panels.

Realistically the average home should look to achieve about £150 to £200 of electricity bill savings per year and to expect a cheque for about £850 to £1000 for the electricity they have generated.

I think we can all agree that’s a very good return on your investment in Solar PV.

The more roof space you have, the greater the incentive you have to install a larger more powerful system on your roof up to a limit of 4 kilowatt peak output (Kwp).

Basically; the rate of return for a 16 panel system as opposed to an 8 panel gives you a far greater return, so the bigger the solar system the BIGGER the return.

Did you know
You are paid about TWICE as much for generating your own electricity form solar panels as national grid charges you for buying their electricity from them!

In the present climate with interest rates at an all time low, and energy costs spiralling Solar Panel systems represent a sound investment. They reduce your energy bills long term, but also guarantee great return on investment (ROI) through Government backed FEED-in-TARIFFs.

On top of all this it’s TAX FREE and INDEX LINKED which means when inflation rises so will the payments made to you – therefore provided you sign up for an Extra Energy Solar System now you are GUARANTEED not to lose out for the 25 years the tariff extends over.

If you are interested in the earnings from solar PV we strongly recommend you move quickly as we believe there will be a shortage of installers during 2012 due to the demand in the UK.
